Controversial artiste turned writer, Etcetera, is at it again and this time he takes a jab at the celebrities who are known for bleaching their skins because they feel it is more appealing. Etcetera who is a columnist in The punch newspapers has made it a point of duty to always lash out at celebs and what he perceives as wrong in the industry. Read his sarcastic open letter below:

Tatoo artist gushes about her humble Rihanna is

24 year old celebrity tatoo artist, Cally-Jo Pothecary has come out to say pop singer Rihanna is a very down to earth person. In a recent interview with BANG showbiz, the graduate of fine arts turned tatoo artist had a lot of nice things to say about 'riri'. She was also opportuned to work with legendary tatoo artist Bang-Bang for the design process of Rihanna’s famous hand tattoo. Read what she had to say below:

" Rihanna was amazing to work with, I love how down-to-earth she is. She’s really not what you would expect from a celebrity, she is just so relaxed and nice. She wanted a cover up on her hand and she definitely wanted something henna inspired, so we looked at lots and lots of different henna patterns and styles and drew it on a few different times and a few ways and finally settled on the style. She was great, and the hand is a really painful area, so I was actually quite surprised how she took it because I actually squirmed when I had my hand done, she was absolutely brilliant. "

 Cally-Jo Pothecary also confessed she would love the opportunity to tattoo ‘Drunk In Love’ singer Beyonce, praising her as ‘incredibly talented.

 Popular yoruba actress Ronke Oshodi Oke recently granted an interview to Vanguard Newspapers and here is what she had to say about pre-marital sex.

Sex is a normal part of life just like money. I know I am a Yoruba ambassador but personally I believe any body above 18 and has a serious relationship can have sex even outside marriage. The couple should know what they have underneath their clothes before they get committed to each other for life. What if I do not like the size as a lady? Frankly, it is one of the reasons why many go into extra marital affairs. Even when a man has everything in the world and does not satisfy me sexually, there is serious trouble. I cannot go into a marriage and start regretting, besides, you won’t be able to tell your family members what you are going through in the name of marriage. I can not manage sex, it is either I enjoy it or disapprove it.

So Sad: Iranian woman defends self against rape and gets hanging sentence in return

According to mirror;
The country's official IRNA news agency said Reyhaneh Jabbari, a university student, was hanged for premeditated murder in a Tehran jail at dawn today. It quoted the court ruling as rejecting the claim of attempted rape and saying all evidence proved that Jabbari plotted to kill Morteza Abdolali Sarbandi, a former intelligence agent. The court ruling said Jabbari, 27, stabbed Sarbandi in the back in 2007 after purchasing a knife two days earlier. Human rights groups had called on Iran's judiciary to halt the execution after claiming her conviction came after a deeply flawed investigation. Amnesty International believes that although Jabbari has admitted stabbing the man once in the back, she has said another man who was also in the house at the time actually killed Sarbandi.

South Africa returns $15million seized cash to Nigeria

 Following the recent buzz  and controversy on the money seized by the South African government from Nigerian officials for the purchase of firearms for the country and the roping in of CAN president, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor. New reports have confirmed that the total money seized in two installments have been fully returned to Nigeria because of the cordial relationship South africa enjoys with Nigeria and to further  promote unity between the two countries. See as it is been reported by  the South African Ambassador to Nigeria, Lulu Mnguni, at a news conference on Friday;
 
The country had, on September 5, 2014, seized $9.3m cash belonging to Nigeria and a month later seized another $5.7m, claiming that both funds were to be used for illegal purchase of arms. But Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, explained that the transactions were legal, urging the South African Government to stop actions that could degenerate to a diplomatic showdown.Mnguni also spoke on the collapsed building in the Synagogue church in Lagos State and its effect on the relationship between the two countries. see more after the cut...

2 year old Mali Ebola victim dies

 It is a very sad one for the people of Mali at the moment as they are said to have lost the only patient of ebola recorded in the country. The victim is a 2year old baby girl who contracted Ebola after returning from Guinea.

According to Daily Mail;

Sources say the girl had been showing signs of recovery, but unfortunately, she relapsed, and died afterwards. The World Health Organization (WHO) has revealed that the deceased was exposed to an unidentified number of people while traveling with her grandmother hundreds of kilometers by bus from Guinea via Mali’s capital to the western town of Kayes.

A health ministry official stated that the child’s mother died in Guinea a few weeks ago.

I am born again but I still have pre-marital sex -Uti Nwachukwu

 Nigerian Big brother contestant and winner Uti Nwachukwu is at it again. He recently granted an interview to The Vanguard and revealed some things about him that we never knew before.
Speaking with a vanguard reporter, Uti says he gave his life to Christ in 2006, but admits he is still an imperfect person, despite being born again.

“Of course, I am born again, I found Christ in 2006, I have always believed in Christ. But I must tell you I am not still perfect, he told the reporter.

“Being born again, means accepting Christ as your Lord and personal saviour. He didn’t come to the world for the righteous, Christ came for the imperfect ones like me and you. I genuinely want to change, Christ is right there soliciting and interceding for me, because he is the way, the truth and the life. People fail to see that it is we, the imperfect, that Christ came for. I am extremely imperfect. I am not the stereotypical type of born again, I am the type that is aware of the love and grace” he explained.

When asked what he meant by being imperfect, he said;

 “Personally, I would not want to have $3x before marriage but sometimes you fall and when you fall, you repent and beg God for forgiveness; it’s not easy.

Liberia's President writes touching letter to the world on Ebola

 Liberia's  President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf some hours ago wrote a letter addressing the world on the deadly Ebola disease currently plaguing her country and the call for collective help in tackling the menace.

According to  The Independent ,the letter was read over the radio and transmitted worldwide,

Dear World,

In just over six months, Ebola has managed to bring my country to a standstill. We have lost over 2,000 Liberians. Some are children struck down in the prime of their youth. Some were fathers, mothers, brothers or best friends. Many were brave health workers that risked their lives to save others, or simply offer victims comfort in their final moments…

There is no coincidence Ebola has taken hold in three fragile states – Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea – all battling to overcome the effects of interconnected wars. In Liberia, our civil war ended only eleven years ago. It destroyed our public infrastructure, crushed our economy and led to an exodus of educated professionals. A country that had some 3,000 qualified doctors at the start of the war was dependent by its end on barely three dozen. In the last few years, Liberia was bouncing back. We realized there was a long way to go, but the future was looking bright.Now Ebola threatens to erase that hard work.

 The Hennessy Artistry train stopped at Ghana this week with headliners 2face and Wizkid delivering back to back hits. And it seems celebrities were also there to share in the fanfare at the Accra International Conference Centre as beautiful actress Juliet Ibrahim was reportedly spotted in the crowd having a nice time, and seated next to her was her estranged husband Kwadwo Safo Jnr. The two reportedly had a nice time keeping each other's company and eyewitnesses say juliet was even whispering things in his ear. They were said to have arrived separately and also left the venue separately but hey you never know, anything could have happened. Boko haram release captives including wife of Cameroun Vice-President

Cameroon's Minister of Information, Issa Bakary, this morning gave a statement saying 27 people, including the wife of Cameroon's Vice PM Amadou Ali have been released. Others said to be released are those  who were taken hostage by the sect between May and July this year in which 10 chinese national are among.

Read his statement below:

"The 27 hostages kidnapped on May 16 2014 at Waza and on July 27th at Kolofata were given this night to Cameroonian authorities. Ten Chinese, the wife of the Vice Prime Minister, Amadou Ali, the Lamido of Kolofata, and members of their families kidnapped with them are safe"

The statement however didn't say the terms the cameroonian government met before the hostages were set free. More details coming...

TB Joshua to appear before panel next week as regards building collapse

Following the collapse of  a building belonging to the Synagogue Church of All Nations, The Lagos state government has set up a committee to look into the cause of the collapse of the building. This panel is set to start meeting as from Monday 13th october  at the Lagos State High court ikeja, and it has been revealed that all parties involved have been summoned prior to the commencement of the investigations.

According to PM NEWS:
All the parties involved have been summoned to appear before the panel when it begins sitting. It will be recalled the building collapse caused a controversy following claims and counter-claims as to the cause.
The state government has partly hinged the collapse on building agents who did not get approval to erect the structure, adding that, it was due to structural deficit as the building was originally a two-storey building.

TB Joshua had made several claims that the building was demolished with explosives. He also blamed an aircraft that hovered over the building four times as a possible cause for the collapse. His church also stated that the collapsed building was approved for 12-storey and as such, the structure was strong enough.

It was on the strength of the controversy that the state government set up a panel to actually find out the cause of the collapse.

"The former President appreciated the move by the APC to find out what he knew about two of the APC aspirants seeking the party’s presidential ticket. He was happy that the party consulted him over whom to pick as its presidential candidate. The former President gave detailed information on the APC presidential aspirants to Tinubu.
